    Can I hold the tenant's security deposit during the lease?

    While technically the answer is yes so long as you follow the related laws, HRG requires that we hold the deposit for all full-management customers.  This is to protect all parties involved.

    How much notice in advance does a tenant have to give before moving?

    Tenants are required to give a 60 day written notice to vacate.  This is regardless of them being in the initial lease term or in a month-to-month situation.

    What can I do with my online account?

    • Execute many reports related to your property including end of year reporting for tax purposes.
    • Open and track maintenance tickets.
    • View images of invoices from our subcontractor's maintenance activities.
    • Check your funds balance.

    What Is Landlord Insurance?

    Landlord insurance provides coverage for property owners renting out one or more residential homes, apartments, or condos. As a landlord, you need protection from financial loss that may result from damages to a rental property due to fire, break-in, severe weather and more. You can get insurance to help cover loss of income in the event that your rental units become uninhabitable due to circumstances beyond your control.

    What options do I have to receive my rental funds?

    HRG can electronically transfer your funds directly to your checking account.  We can also mail a check.  Both methods are initiated on the same day.  EFT's typically take 4 days to complete and checks are based on your distance from Raleigh, NC.

    When should I expect my rental funds?

    On-time rent payments are received prior to the 5th of each month.  HRG batch processes on-time rent payments to owners.  While not guaranteed, we typically process on the 10th or 11th of each month.  This allows for a minimum of 4 business days for personal checks to clear before we fund owners.  Once an owner EFT has been requested, the process takes 4 business days to be fully transferred.  This would make your typical date of receipt between the 14th and 17th depending on weekends and holidays.  Late rent payments are processed as they arrive; dependent on the payment method.
